Best Male Presenter

At the recent Pure FM Awards, The Excellently Cool Show’s presenter, Daniel O’Connor, won the award for ‘Best Male Presenter’.

In addition to the award itself, a rather unusual gift was presented – a framed quiz sheet! The reason for this was due to the presenter’s photo appearing in the ‘Name the DJ’ picture round of the University of Portsmouth Students’ Union quiz alongside other famous names such as Steve Wright, Terry Wogan and Scott Mills. The framed quiz sheet belonged to a team of Pure FM members who revealed that their team won the quiz by just one point and they added that this one point was all down to The Excellently Cool Show! Many of the prizes they won were donated to the Pure FM 24 Hour Broadcast.

Pure FM 24 Hour Broadcast – Results!

The Pure FM 24 Hour Broadcast was a great success. Well done to everyone who took part in the broadcast and thank you to everyone who listened and donated. Early calculations are that Pure FM raised around £1000! The money raised is going to RAG, who are this year supporting Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, Diabetes UK and Women’s Aid.

 

‘Hour 23′ of The Pure FM 24 Hour Broadcast saw The Excellently Cool Show presenting The 24 Minute Campus Challenge, based on The Excellently Cool Show’s Two Minute Campus Challenge feature which was adapted especially for the 24 hour broadcast!

 

For this challenge, two teams were formed:

• The Tech Team (Elliot & Fred)
• The Water Babies (Caroline & Mark)

Their challenge was to collect donations from as many people as possible in 24 minutes and at the same time, listeners could send in their guesses as to the results.

 

The final results of The 24 Minute Campus Challenge were as follows:

• 1st Place: The Water Babies - 45 people
• 2nd Place: The Tech Team - 38 people

The listener with the closest guess to the actual result was: Jamie.

 

The winners (‘The Water Babies’ and Jamie) both received Excellently Cool prizes!

Pure FM 24 Hour Broadcast

The Excellently Cool Show will be taking part in the Pure FM 24 Hour Broadcast for ‘Hour 23′ raising money going towards RAG. Tune in between 10am – 11am on Thursday 12th February to win prizes and hear The 24 Minute Campus Challenge! Info below:
